Head's up on the Ottawa ice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Head's up on the Ottawa ice

Post by phitty »

With the warm temp / rain the Ottawa is on the rise again for the next three days keep an closer eye on the ice than usual. It takes a little while for the water to come down from upstream, but even considering that, the level has jumped. As the current pick up, the ice gets thinner, and I'd likely aviod any "so-so" ice at the moment.

If they decide to let water out of the dams upstream, it could jump really quick. Just bear it in mind.

For the Ottawa (or pretty much any other river in Canada) you can get the real-time levels here:

Its a pretty handy site.
