Back from our annual trip to Cuba......Best Vacation Ever. Our friends Markus (some of you will remember Mark) and Alison joined us down there as they flew from Halifax.
The weather, laughs and fishing were top notch. Landed the biggest fish of my life after a 50 minute battle off the pier. Pure insanity, we don't have anything in our area that fights 10% of what these fish do. Unreal.
Wow RJ,
Looked like a great place to wet a line. Nice looking dock and calm water. Congratulations on your catch..I will be packing a couple of rods when I go to Punta Cana DR in a couple of weeks,.
Cheers,
Dave

I've been to memories Caya Coco and it's a great resort. I just packed a few travel rods, which I have to a local fisherman whom was fishing near the resort. Make sure you bring sandals cus there is lots of Coral. You can also go up to the catameran guys and ask them to take to fishing and they will take you out secretly for 2-3 hours for $20. But fishing from shore when you hit the beach keep walking left until you hit a small Creek which will lead you to a small laggon. There's alot of different species in there.

How do you pack your rods and tackle RJ? Do you fly Sunwing etc? Is there a luggage charge and if so how much?
Thanks!
I used to do the rod tube deal but it`s not necessary. I pack 4 travel rods into my suitcase and a Plano 3700 with a mix of terminal tackle and casting baits. Don't waste your time with plastics and stuff. My reels (4) go in my carry on.
We always book and fly with Sunwing. Stay under the weight limit of I think 25 kilos and you're good. I think it's 20 bucks a Kilo for anything over.
