a ten pound Bass That I caught!
My first thought was to vote for #4. But then I don't watch them anyway, and the odd one keeps wifey happy so wth. So I''ll go with #7, my ultra needs high test.
I think a quick link to an "Open seat" type forum would be a good idea.
Nothing better then going out with different folk and learning new techniques.
I like that ^^^ idea!

As previously mentioned, countdown app to Bass Opener.
I guess this would be interesting for all openers in zones 12, 20, 18 and 15
I think most bass anglers, with the exception of a few lakes up in the deep woods of "La Belle Province", strive for the first available opener, hence zone 18 and 20.
Anglers should always check the regulations regardless.
If fishin ain't your mission, then you can kiss my Bass!
Fairly new user here, but really love the forums. You are doing a great job.
A couple of features that might be interesting would be "most active" forums or "hot topics" so people can see the most active threads. You do have a chronological hierarchy right now, which is very good because current stuff is always at the top, but sometimes folks can comment on a very old thread that's not relevant to the majority of your readers anymore. Having a most active area could complement the hierarchy if you are leaving it as is.
I really like the idea of a resource area for new anglers, though it would take a while to compile. But,hopefully your new software will include the headers in the URLs, so it will improve your SEO and if you do create a resource guide, then good keyword selection will help you with the search bots.
Also love the idea of placing the fishing map in a prominent spot. I have not yet seen that, but am about to go hunting for it.
One last comment about the colour scheme; any colour blind folks using the forum? Do you struggle to read any of the text? Red is often very difficult for folks with visual problems to read, especially on a non-white background. Might not be bad to opt for something with a bit more contrast to make it easier to read.
These are all just thoughts. Again, thanks for the effort you folks put into this. Really glad I found it and am very much looking forward to everyone's thoughts, comments and photos/videos during the open water season which is just around the corner.

Fishing is fun ... catching something is a bonus
There are regular questions about Québec-Ontario licensing issues. Having some front page clarification of the rules would go a long way.
I would love to help but I do not understand or trust the rules.....so I buy both permits.
This has always been an awesome site! You guys are doing a great job and I thank you so much! I would like to see some kind of boater and non-boaters section. I have a boat moored on a nearby lake for about 6 months out of the year. I like to take people out fishing that might not get the chance to go in a boat very often. I do not have a problem finding people to go but sometimes I do head out alone in the evenings.
Thanks,
Dave
RJ I don't know if this is possible but the ability to copy/cut and paste any type of file would be great. I use photobucket but it can be darned finicky at times.
