Looking to rent a cottage for a week (likely early August) within 2 hours of Ottawa ( can be in Ontario or Quebec). Good fishing, family friendly shoreline, and fully equipped cottage a must. If you've got any recommendations feel free to pm me a link or contact info.

Re: Any insight on cottage rentals?
We rented cottages on golden lake last summer: Mountainview Cottage Rentals. Very kid friendly beach. Lots of sand and shallow for smaller children. Not as much fun for the older kids but there were kayaks available (included in rental) for use which made it more interesting for my kids (15 and 16). The fishing was okay. We took the boat up the Madawaska river which is right beside the cottages and caught some nice bass and pike.
This summer we are looking at White Lake.

I used this site this year to book mine. You can search by lake or by closest town to look in an area that you like.

Good luck.

I used http://www.VRBO.com and rented a nice cottage in the Minden, Ontario area last year. The nice thing about vacation rentals by owner is that their is no additional finders fee.
