Boxing day wishlist

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I guess I should also state I use 17 lb mono for my spinnerbaits. It is one of only a few of my rods that does not have braid on it.

I completely agree with Adam. I prefer a faster tip for spinner baits.
Then again some like the 733 for lighter spinnerbaits.
It all comes down to personal preference.

Both are great for spinnerbaits I use my 733 paired with braid for 3/8-1/2 blades, 734 paired with 17lb mono for 1/2-3/4oz blades. All depends how I'm fishing the bait, if you fish with braid and mostly 3/8-1/2 I'd highly recommend the 733, braid-softer rod=bingo. 734 I found I was pulling the bait away.
Very good points.

I always used 17lbs mono for spinner-baits.
I like to slow roll and bottom bounce my spinner-baits.
I would find it difficult to use a resistance type bait on a Dobyns 3 power rod.
Always found that the stretch of the mono needed a faster taper in the rod.
My current setup for spinner-baits is a Loomis SBR813C paired with a Daiwa T3MX 6.3:1 spooled with 17lbs mono.
I used a Dobyns 734C for the longest time and went back to Loomis. I prefer the Loomis Taper. It works for me.

For boxing day I'm hoping that Lowrance will announce that the HDS Gen3 plotter will incorporate the Navionics Live mapping feature, along with built in WiFi and a single transducer that includes structure scan.

You did call it a WISH-list :-)

Monday came way too fast.

I cannot think of any material items I'd want or need.

That is a great place to be in life!

This was Santa's reply last year....

Dear Santa,
I left milk and cookies for you under the tree, and I left carrots for your reindeer outside the backdoor.
Marc

Dear Marc,
Milk gives me the $hits and carrots make the deer fart in my face. You want to be a kiss-butt? Leave me a glass of Chivas Regal and some Toblerone.
Santa

I promise I won't screw it up this year Santa!!!!
