Re: Soft plastic baits and ice fishing.
I have tried many and had very little success for walleyes. Perch will go after quite a bit though, I have had lots of luck with the gulp maggots and minnowheads, just tip them on whatever lure your using.
Re: Soft plastic baits and ice fishing.
They're great for panfish(crappie, 'gills and 'seeds), perch and smaller trout. Especially the Gulp ALIVE micro baits, among others. But for walleye and pike, minnows are #1. If you target lakers, plastics work great as well......larger ones.

I'm a goin' fishin', mama's goin' fishin' and my baby's goin fishin' too.
How do you rig it? What do you target with it? Ext ext.
Im willing to try anything once. Maybe twice if no one is looking...fifa 15 coins

Just with a jig of your joice. Preferably a jig that is heady enough to keep the bait horizontal.
Also, jigs with the small spoons attached to the bottom like the fin-tech ss minnow is ideal.

Re: Soft plastic baits and ice fishing.
For eyes and pike live minnows are good in every condition, for pannies i rarely ever use livebait. Gulp waxworms are killer for perch and pink or white scented 1 1/2 inch soft plastics should get you some nice slabs. My brother caught a 33 inch pike right under the ice using a 1 inch crappie jig last year near stonehouse island, i should have filmed the fight he was using 4 pound line
Just goes to show you need to find the fish first more than anything, once your on a good school a variety of lures/plastics should get you bites on a good day.
