first report..with pic

Post by Codysouth9 »

So this is my first report on this site and it's a short one. Thanks to cprince for the uploading lesson.
Spent an afternoon fishing out on a small seemingly untouched pond out in the bush that I discovered while 4 wheeling. Dragged the old leak littered aluminum boat out with the trolling motor and quickly discovered an abundance of pike. In total between 2 of us I would guess around 20 pike were caught in a 2.5 hour period (hammer handle free).
This fish was not only the largest of the day but also the first. Caught him on a daiwa spinner with a yellow twister tail trailer.
All in all a great afternoon of fishing with only one regret. Leaving the rubber boots at the cottage.
More reports to come this fall..Image

This is a couple of posts now where the people have went into the bush and tried out a smaller lake or pond just to see if it hold fish .. with great success. when we did the madawaska river a few weeks ago I identified a few places near the river that were a short trek through the woods that we should explore ... they were big enough to be visible on the sat image but not something big enough to really put a boat in ... some were ponds from beaver dams, etc. We never had the time to explore but seeing the success you guys had it makes me think that it might have been worth the walk .. next time.

Keep this spot to yourself ... enjoy it ... and most importantly .. .remember your boots next time !!!

Very nice pike. It must have been so cool to get a chance to fish on a pond that you "discovered" 4-wheeling. Especially since it had some cooperative pike!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Hey Cody, now that is a pond that you must keep to yourself my friend.
On those days when you want a guaranteed catch, especially of Pike, it will be there just for you.
Good work! :D
