was trying to find how much my yamaha pro 50 weights 1994 2 stroke. any web sites to help would be great.
may be in the market for a 4 storke any sugestions?
would like to go to a bigger size like a 70 would this be possible with out hurting the transum...

The dry weight of a 50 hp Yamaha outboard of the 2 stroke variety is 158 - 187 lbs, depending on the particular model
You should keep the HP to the max listed on the transom of your boat.
New 2010 70hp Yamaha 4 stroke is very light (260LB http://continuouswave.com/whaler/refere ... tSheet.pdf )
but if you looking for older model
stay below 60hp since once yo go above the weight jumps dramatically.
Below 60hp 4 stroke will be lighter then e-tec.
Also next time would be good idea to post to proper section
