Ice fishing Ottawa river with Quebec license
Ice fishing Ottawa river with Quebec license
If i am ice fishing on the Ontario side of the ottawa river with a Quebec license how many lines can I have out?
OK, could i use my Quebec license on the ontario side of the river during the winter like I can in the summer?Andy_L wrote:the rules of the province you are fishing in apply. fishing ontario side = ontario rules...fishing quebec side = quebec rules
I was under the impression that on the Ottawa river your license dictates the rules?
For example this summer I was fishing with someone over 65 who does not need a license in Ontario and we were asked by Quebec ministry guy to show our licenses. I was fine with my Quebec lisc. and we were fishing on the Quebec side of the river but the ministry guy just said that rule does not apply in Quebec ( Over 65 no lisc needed) and let us continue fishing.

Yes you can Ontario sportfishing license is good for both sides of the Ottawa and Quebec sportfishing license ok for both sides of the Ottawa river.
Follow the rules from the side you are fishing like Andy said.
But if you have an Ontario Conservation License it does not count on the Quebec side becasue Quebec do not have the equivalent license. As for the 65 years and older you might have to call the MNR Que or Ont.
I am not 65 yet so I do not know the rules for that.

No if it's on the Quebec side it's Quebec rules. So no family fishing day in quebec therefore????
By the way I didn't even know that it was family fishing day in Ontario. I know it's Family Day on Monday but that has noting to do with fishing.

Ontario's Family Fishing Weekend is February 13-15, 2010. Anglers without a license must abide by the limits set for the Conservation License.Binder wrote:Thanks
So i assume any Ontario residents coming over this weekend will be able to fish on the Ottawa River on the Quebec side without a lisc. since it is Family fishing day in Ontario?
As mentioned before...
