Oh oh, when the "lets keep it in perspective" crowd starts weighing in you know were in trouble lol.
Racism basically means the singling out of a racial group for different treatment or treating different racial groups differently. The only racism I see here is from our government and ministry, they have adopted an officially racist policy in a weak attempt to deal with this issue. Traffic infractions are one thing but in Ontario there has been a longstanding policy of zero tolerance for fishing without a license or being in posession of oos fish or game. What our officials are trying to do now is apply different rules to different races i.e. racism and its wrong and thats what people are mad at.
And insinuating that your fellow hawktalkers who see a visible minority fishing would assume that they have no license..well thats unfortunate, and it's not true

Today at the Manotick mill there was a Chinese family of 8 all fishing which is fine, but there was also an Arab family of 4 fishing, which also is FINE.....
The problem is they were not releasing the fish properly, and many fish were killed upon release and left floating in the reservoir above the water control dam.
Now on the dam, the huge Chinese family was catching panfish and when they would catch them, they would release them, but the problem is there is a 40 ft drop to the water, and anything you drop instantly dies on impact, especially since it's 1 ft deep, and rocky.
When I catch a fish off the 40 ft drop side of the dam, I reel it up, and I bring it over to calm water on the reservoir side, and I drop it no more than 5 ft into the water, and they swim off happily!
I should have phoned the MNR but they wouldn't have shown up. If i see it happen again. I will go over to them and yell at them myself and tell them how to do it properly and safely SO WE CAN ALL ENJOY THE FISH!
even if they are just pannies, it upsets me to see sunfish, rock bass, floating on the top ofthe water after being smacked to death from a drop or bad release.................
I highly doubt they even had fishing licences.........But that is my opinion.......
I don't appreciate fish abuse...............
