carillion dams/kayak report.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Joco,

I'm happy to hear you and THE DON had a great trip. I can't think of anything better than catching varieties of fish during an outing. Almost like saltwater fishing...you never know what you hook into!

Did you use the flutter spoons at all or toss the darts all day? So on a scale of 1 - 10 what would you rate the experience? Certainly, catching a nice Musky has to be a first for you in a kayak isn't it?

Well done and congrats!

Nice bunch of fish you got there Joco and Don :) . The Carillon Dam is one of the place I want to tried this year for walleyes sauger and whatever is biting :) . By the way do I need a Quebec fishing licence to fish there is its part of the Ottawa or the Ontario is good?

Way to go, boys. You sure covered a wide array of fish species between you. (Got a little yak ride from the muskie, Joco? 8))

A very good report and fun pic's, too -- thanks for taking the time to post them, Joco.

Good meeting you Joco & BM. Looks like I should show up and leave earlier like you two...I struck out on the shad and it started raining a bit after you left. At least I got into some other fish: walleye, sauger, smallies.

Actually, I'm guessing the shad bite slowed down in general after I showed up because even on the North side, I only saw about two people hook into them over about two hours over there. I did see one boat land a nice pike or musky that took about 15 minutes to land in the current.
