carillion dams/kayak report.

hi all.

so me and bucketmouth deside to hit carillions dams this morning...4am.

what a great day we got...not a drop off rain all time we were on water.

so we stat by going up the river on the side till we got to the dams..ok.tons off boats there already like 20+ boats there... :shock: ..and there catching some shads..cool.

we start to cats wham..i get a big one,,very nice a huge jump in the air then gone spit the dart in my way... :cry: .

so we countinu to cast and cast..we caught all species..shads/sauger/walleye/cats/bass/mooneyes/musky/pike.

yes musky..i was casting for shad wit a tiny dart jigs on a 8 pound line..bam.....heavy weight..got that musky on like 8 min long..all around the kayak a couple time then got him to the kayak 4 time people saying MUSKYYYYY frome there boats area shearing.wow..that os a anice ones..its aprox 38 inch..got hi out off water try to grab him right slid back in water then gone..its ok...oos fish.. :lol: ..but still coll on a dart jigs.

got 13 sauger today and that musky and shads...no monster only that realy nice one lost.. :cry: .

DON..caught like everything on the menue..frome cats to pike sauger..shads..bass...and lost some big shads a couple time and something big big never no what it was.. :shock: .

tthat was on the north side then we deside to go south side.

i meeth a guy in a bg boat..hey joco.... :shock: ..sorry ,,we did not had time to chat so i still dont no ho it was but nice see you.. :wink: .

then after a bit on that side we see one more kayak coming are way..

COOL.......its BIGZ frome here on fish hawk..he as a whiteqwater and use it to fish.way cool..no to see you there bud. :wink: .

then we deside to hit the shore..

ariving at the launch we see........RAZOR and is budy mr dion..man cool to meeth so many people over there at carillion.

so after an invitation we go take a brake at the RAZOR restaurent..in hawkbury.wow

what anice place that is..on the shore off the river..can fish frome the front lawn...the best spot you can get.

great restaurent..fines cuisine..i will be going back wit the wife realy soon.

guy this is a place to go try you wont regreat it...cool place..and a special place .

its call.elephant cuisine du monde..the menue is just....its realy specials.. :shock: .

so that was a perfect day,,we did not caught a tons off shad,,but we did catch a tons off species.

I woke up at 6:00 am and was thinking of maybe going , but it started to

bass addict.

it rain on th way there but not even a dropall the time we were fishing ..



i will go back for sher..not for shads but for musly and walleye and drums etc..what a great spots.


for people that do want shad..this week is the one to go..saw some boats catching tons off them right in the current..bring lotes off darts..i got 10 in the bottom over there.. :lol: .

Cool joco.... good to hear that you guys did not get wet while fishing :) Over here was kind of wet all day....heck @ 4:30am it was pouring:shock:

Did you keep any of the saugers you caught?? or were they too small to keep. :cry:

Joco, those silvery fish are mooneyes or shads? Probably polluted with muskies down there.........Mmmmm.

peppino you are right those two smaller one are mooneyes..but the one that jumping all over like mabe in the 3 to 4 pounder were some nice shads... :P

Super day guys! A wide variety of fish caught and the weather held up for you. Turned out to be an OK day!

Thanks for sharing Joco...Nice to see Don and yourself getting into some fish from the yak. Looks like fun.

whitch ones..the one that wen the open one door of the dam(witout any horn) he almost lots a yak ok mabe not but the level cam up a bit on that corner..hahaha or wen i got spool out my current or wen got swamp on shore by a boat..or?...

this is fishing..fishing storys.. :lol: .

It was great to meet you and Don. It's always nice to chat with people on Fish hawk, but it's really cool to meet them in person. Joco, I'm glad to see that you were not a smelly old frenchman. Looking forward to fishing with you guy's soon.
