1 piece rods

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

1 piece rods

Post by lars56ca »

I've been online looking for a new rod and there seems to be a definate trend towards 1 piece rods. The only positive I can think of is that they'd probably be more sensetive but it's a bigtime drawback trying to transport them. Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you

ABS pipes with cap on one end and screw-on cap on the other.

I agree with Wallyboss, ABS pipe is the way to go for rod protection. The last several rods I bought were 1-piece, which are really nice. That being said my rods are stored/transported in the rod locker on my boat. The new rod I bought for my wife was 2-piece. She likes the idea that it easily fits in the trunk of the car when she takes the grandkids fishing. I suppose it boils down to your style of fishing, and what vehicle you have to transport the rods.
