Need Information about the B of Q

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I don't know how to respond to so many people here, first of all, Superdad you said you have fished in the area for many years and never heard of Hungry Bay and I get "Burv" who is very new to fish-hawk and he picks this bay out of the internet like it has been around for ever, and I look at it like , what is the truth?? Now I get Seaweed telling me the fishing isn't that great in that area(others tell me it is great) and I am starting to think, who is right here? I am a little confussed on who to believe???? I think there are a whole lot of different names from the locals to certain areas and there are probably many names for the same area by the different people but why ndo these names not jive. Please if anyone knows this area and they are not afraid to tell me the truth I would greatly appreciate the honesty. Maybe Superdad it wasn't your intention to mislead me and I believe you really didn't want to lead me wrong because this was something you really didn't know as Hungry Bay.

Hungry Bay is part of Big Bay, I have spent countless days fishing on the Bay of Quinte. I live here. I never hear of people saying Hungry Bay is where it's at for early season walleye fishing period. I have spent many days over the years trolling in Big Bay, I have caught them in the Hungry Bay area as well over toeards Big Island, Muscote Bay, Minnie Blakely Shoal and Shipwreck Shoal. I depends where the schools of bait are. Mostly Shad and smaller yellow perch.

What people do say is Big Bay is good (or bad) and Telegraph Narrows is good (or bad). Some people may not catch fish in an area and then tell everyone else it sucks, maybe they can't find fish though.

The Bay of Quinte is slowly turning around a bit and starting to get a little better in the early season. Having said that, some people have had no problems catching fish, even though it has been harder in recent years.

A popular tactic is trolling C.C Shads, Hot'N'Tots etc. less than 100 feet back off of Planer Boards. Just cover water in Big Bay if that is where you are going to be and you should connect with some fish.

Thanks furious for the info, I have only fished the B of Q once and had a blast! I guess there are many arms to the bay, and lots of different areas holding fish. Thanks for the fishing techniques you have used. When I was up last fall we also used planner boards and trolled in Adulphous Reach, I belive that is what it is called and except for the crappie weather did get into some nice fish. Hopefully the opener will be just as much fun.
