How was your Christmas fishing trip with Birdee? Maybe I missed your report?
W.
Hey Wolfe,
Xmas trip was awesome despite the conditions curveball that was thrown our way...6 to 8 foot waves greeted us.....we still got fish just not like in years past....
This weather, the cold snap, has the guys saying we'll be fishing whities, lakers, salmon and rainbows on Colpoys Bay in Feb. That'll be the first time in over 20 yrs for me, can't wait Get out there people it's a great season even if it's a short one.
I heard you and Steve did well, Ya I'll be out there, in your spot
mmmm Jumbo perch tasy snack in this cold water. way to go man.. I do recognize that lake by the horizon in the background where is that again, oh yes I think I know somewhere in Ontario..??
I love ice fishing and just wanted to say that not all of the ice is safe as there can be unusual conditions as near my house.
From Dunrobin to Otawa there is a house that protects their dock through water bubbles(maybe heated), but through moving water.
I was x-country sking and came upon it but saw snowmobile tracks not 15 feet away from the open water. I'd been following the tracks too and they'd mostly been staying near shore (100-200ftout)
So its totally possible that someone could hit that weak ice made by someone trying to protect their dock.
A plus is that the fishing isn't good there, or not good during the summer.
I'm just bothered that I was so close to the open water and the snowmobiliers were so close its a wonder they didn't go through.
Does anyone know if this is legal, are signs required?
