Boxing Day at Lebarons?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Not a fan of Lebarons?

I've always found the prices really good and Spence and the boys have always been really good to me.

Big Jim is supposed to be there, I should drop in and say hi to him.

I would agree on one point, the taxes off may not be worth the crowds.

Was just going to add that its no taxes on Father's Day as well if you want to wait. I'm not a father yet, but I make a point of picking up a few things on father's day to get a feel for what it will be like someday. :)

(that's the only major life change right? Cheaper tackle?)

Oh ya J....I spend my fair share at LeB's....I hate the new location....I just can't see how moving to the worst road in the city of Ottawa to get around on is where they wanted to be....it has dropped my trips there by more than 50%...

Plus....get to know your local tackle shop....I've had them match and beat LeB's price out of loyalty...

Couldn't agree more, local Ma and Pa tackle shops are always the best customer is king.

Went there to say hi to Big Jim and he was with Spence and then like instinct muskymatt made his way over and before we could all finish our merry christmas handshakes peppino joined into the festivities.

I'm glad they changed location. The old spot was exactly 3 minutes walk from work for me, dropped a fortune over lunch many a day.

Don't know why we continue to go out on Boxing Day!?!? We went to Basspro first and that was a complete waste of time and money. Bought a bunch of stuff cuz I got a $100 giftcard from my daughter but the parking was HORRENDOUS! 45 minutes to find a spot even with Joanne's handicap sticker. Mind you, there were at least 3 cars we saw with NO sticker! Ignorant Ba$tards. We ended up parking on the sidewalk like everyone else after 45 minutes. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get out of the mall's parking lot! After all that hassle, all the items we bought were all regular priced items

Then we went to LeBaron's in Markham. No problems with parking and it was like any other weekend in there. No huge crowds and they had everything I went there for. I will be returning a bunch of the stuff I got at Basspro cuz I'll be saving about $50. The Daiwa linecounter was $20 cheaper PLUS no tax, so about $40 savings. The Humminbird PC cord was $5 plus tax cheaper. Anyways, got LOTS of new toys to play with

- new Daiwa baitcaster combo
- new Quantum linecounter combo
- new Daiwa SG LCA17 linecounter
various other fishing related goodies, woo hoo! Happy Boxing Day everyone :!:
