St. Lawerence River fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

St. Lawerence River fishing

Post by marlinhunter »

Hey Guys,
Just got back from a cold day of diving down near Cardinal and Morrisburg. Just to let anyone fishing down there the fish were between fourteen feet to about twenty one ft. Watched a BIG pike nail probably the biggest perch I have ever seen. They get huge up here for perch. It was amazing although even a dry suit was cold. Can't get out this weekend so thought I would report where they were sitting. It's nice to have to guess. One more thing do perch on the St. Lawrence usually get to 8 inches. It was huge wish I had underwater camera. LOTS of big walleye, saw three smallies. Decent size too. Take care see you on the water with the rod bent.

Interesting tidbits, there Marlinhunter. How big do you figure the pike for?

I hope you can get back out again soon. Too bad about the missed wknd coming up. Hope you'll be something fun, at least, in the absence of fishing!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Thanks for the info.
I was thinking of heading that way this Sunday.. Sort of a toss up between last day of Bass in Div 10 or walleye at Cardinal.
If the weather is okay I'm leaning towards Cardinal.

Hope the missing boater is not still around.
