Algonquin Park

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Algonquin Park

Post by katch moore »

So it's set, heading off with my uncles and my mom, she wants to catch a trout. We decided to head up to Algonquin Park on the 5,6,7 of may 2006. i was thinking about entering acces point 26 and have our base camp on North River Lake. From there we can do a day trip down to Allan Lake. At the end of the portage where the rapids hit Allan lake i know for a fact that there are nice brook trout. so i think it's going to be a great trip.

well if you guys know of any better places in Algonquin Park to camp and fish for trout. well let me knwo....

Ice out 2006!!!!!!

great thinking about spring trips to the park

You may be ok this year
but there is often still ice on the lakes in early may
especially at the north end of the park
closer to your trip you may want to check into this.

Hi wannafish

I have been to a lake in alg. park called Cedar lake , I went for about 7 years in a row to a boat in campsite with some buds . We caught Brookies , lakers pics with the largest pic @ 12 lbs good fishing every year. trolled surface and casted for brookies then downrigged for lakers , but also pulled them off the surface. There are several rivers in and out inc. the petawawa which you can portage and hit other lakes for more brookies. The entrance is off the Brent road trail. It's in the interior of the park so make sure you check the regulations. Book in advance Not many sites but it is some of the best I've seen

Cheers
