Pics (Lots!) from Wolfe Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Pics (Lots!) from Wolfe Lake

Post by wolfe »

Just returned from a getaway to Wolfe Lake. We met up with crazy high temp's and humidity, as you are all aware, the 1st part of the week. Then it was on to the verrry wet, cool and windy side of the weather spectrum. Strange week!!

I had the boys to myself most of the trip  , so fishing usually involved lots of worm handling, snag retrieves and sibling brawl break- ups. But I did manage a couple of more grown-up type outings, with Tiny Torpedo in tow while Grammy babysat Shane. Here are some fun pics from our trip -- quality not so great on some, due to rain & a ? problem with my digi-cam:

TYLER'S 12 INCH WALLY; HE WAS PROUD!

14 INCHER FOR ME:

Another 14 INCHER...

SHANE, TYLER & TOBY READY FOR SOME PANFISH ACTION, RAIN OR SHINE...

HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEET'G UP WITH GORFMAN AT BOB'S LAKE; THE KIDS HAD A BLAST! HERE IS SHANE WITH ONE OF 2 BARBOTS HE CAUGHT. THX GORF, FOR YOUR SAINTLY PATIENCE WITH THE KIDS, HOSPITALITY AND GOOD CONVERSATION!

SHANE'S BIG ROCKBASS; WATCH OUT TINY TORPEDO, LITTLE BROTHER IS UP & COMING...!

THIS SUNFISH MEASURED 10"; BOATED BY TINY TORPEDO.

ANOTHER BAD BOY 10" SUNFISH, THIS ONE FOR ME. RAINY DAY FUN!

All-in-all, it was an enjoyable week, weather aside. We made the best of it... the rockbass/panfish action was great fun; we managed some walleye, but only 1 mediocre pike for me (pic in Angler Idol Gallery); and Ty caught two OOS smallies (IMMENSE LUNKERS) in 12-14' of water while jigging for 'eyes. Brought them in on his ultralight pole, unassisted, except for Mom adjusting the drag.

Can't wait to go back for those big bronzies in July, when all is fair in love & war!

Awesome report - kids and fishing - gotta love it.

Nice pics Wolfe. Any walleye is a good walleye in my book. Hope you made a snack of em'. Those 14 inchers are the best eaters yum yum! :D Despite the weather, looks like you had a great time. Cheers!

MM,

No, not really. I do take a lot of pic's, mostly kids of course, but plenty of Brian. Most of them are not fishy pics, though, as I tend to do the most angling. He fishes, too, but while we are out in the boat, he is often tinkering with the engine, respooling reels, etc. He's a putterer by nature! So there are less fishing pics of him........we'll work on that next trip out, and I want to get him into another tiger muskie this summer. Stand by....

Thx all for your nice comments.

W.
