Where's everyone going for the pickeral/pike opener????

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I know someone here has a couple nuggets of info they'd like to share. :D

Just so everyone knows, it's about 15 min. NNW of Aylmer, right across from Dunrobin Shore. I just edited my other post as well.

I am headed to golden lake and the bonnechere river to see family that is visiting their inlaws. Any tips or hints???
I have never fished there and am looking forward to just getting out.

Note golden lake is in division 15 ... Pike season in division 15 doesn't open until the 21st which is the 3rd sat in May.

Also note that Golden lake is closed to walleye fishing until 2007.

see exceptions - http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/pubs/fishi ... fr2005.pdf

Hoser,

Don't think White Lake is in the picture, I think me and Bigfish are headin out with the 12fter so I'm thinkin smaller lake, also considering I work right on three mile bay I can fish it anytime  But I'm sure we'll see ya soon, as for where we're goin??? Who knows, let the wind and weather be our guide!

Cheers,

MH

Ottawa River Opener - Friday the 13th

Post by Seaweed »

Well the wife and another couple we know headed out to fish the opener on the Ottawa and enjoyed a fantastic day. We boated a bunch of pike and a few OOS bass... the wife couldn't stay off of them.... and the day was great once it warmed up.

I want to let everyone know though that the Ottawa right now is at about Summer level rather than Spring level. The rain this weekend should bring it up a bit.. but anyone heading out be careful.

Here are some shots.

Me and Pike

The wife and ... OOS bass.. tisk tisk... she smiled though

The pike were hot .... hitting everything in sight.

Nice start to the season and a few good points for FishLips team.
