Just sitting on the deck the deck the other day and grabbed my camera for a quick flash of the duck flying by. It's not the best quality but I'm hoping that I will see one again before the end of the summer and can then take a beauty with my camera on the proper settings. Pretty cool though nonetheless.
I'm about 99% sure that is was a wood duck or something of that sort. He started out in the bay by my cottage where I had a good look at him. Not positive though.

MW...adjust your camera shutter speed to the fastest possible..(if it has such an adjustment) and you will have much better movement shots. Shutter speed is one of the main keys when taking shots of moving objects. Hope this helps. Great pic nonetheless..
Markus, I commend you on eating them. i have seen a hooded merganser and they are one of the sickest things I have ever seen. Never would I willinginlg / knowingly put one of those in my mouth.
