I'm happy to hear you and THE DON had a great trip. I can't think of anything better than catching varieties of fish during an outing. Almost like saltwater fishing...you never know what you hook into!
Did you use the flutter spoons at all or toss the darts all day? So on a scale of 1 - 10 what would you rate the experience? Certainly, catching a nice Musky has to be a first for you in a kayak isn't it?
Nice bunch of fish you got there Joco and Don . The Carillon Dam is one of the place I want to tried this year for walleyes sauger and whatever is biting . By the way do I need a Quebec fishing licence to fish there is its part of the Ottawa or the Ontario is good?
Good meeting you Joco & BM. Looks like I should show up and leave earlier like you two...I struck out on the shad and it started raining a bit after you left. At least I got into some other fish: walleye, sauger, smallies.
Actually, I'm guessing the shad bite slowed down in general after I showed up because even on the North side, I only saw about two people hook into them over about two hours over there. I did see one boat land a nice pike or musky that took about 15 minutes to land in the current.
yes it did slow down..even before we left the north les peoplewas catching some but in the morning they were all over..like i said that little green boat beside us might have caught more then 30 shads and some off those were..big.
