Why musky fisherman rule

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ironies of all ironies.....I once caught a foot long rainbow trout from the headwaters of the Mohawk River in upstate NY that had a 6" muskie in its gullet. The big bully ain't so tough when the tables are turned huh?

Top dog in the trout/salmon world is the king salmon. I heard a lake Ontario charter captain say once that if he tied a rope to the tail of a 30lb king and 30lb muskie....the king would drag the muskie all over the lake.

Atlantic salmon now are certainly a match to kings of the same size and the fly guys fish for them with some pretty hoity-toity tackle.

True, but, unlike a muskie "angler" , at least a fly fisherman actually has to do something in order to catch a trout.....or a muskie.

As well, since we went to universities, we can spell the comparative form of heavy (heavier), we know the difference between "then" and "than", and we can spell the plural form of fly (flies).

No truer statement made.....musky fishing is all about the hunt.....which I understand.....but for pure fight....they aren't high up on my list....but they do take great pics...

Creeky, you da man :D and I must say nice pics all around especially muskymatts lunker.
I must say my first large salmon and rainbow, laker, brown etc was very exiting, exellent fights, beautiful pics and great memories, but nothing made me turn white and have my knees shaking like my first big lunge.
It's true that when it comes to muskies all other fish are just bait :D

Hey SM05, thanks for the response ... hilarity! I didn't know muskies had another purpose in life!

after all the responses I guess I can add

9 ) A trout guy ties on a 3 lb tippet and is proud when he lands a 3 lb trout, a musky fisherman ties on a 100 lb leader and is proud when he goes two years without leaving a bunch of hooks in lost fish and when he can get a 40 lb fish, a picture, and a safe release :)
10 ) trout guys are sensitive, musky fishermen are strong, but not so good at spelling :D

come on you bass/walleye/perch guys ... there must be a few hilarious reasons your fishin' rules

remember this post is about havin' a laugh poking fun at whatever ... it's not meant to be taken seriously, cause an argument, or be seen as anything but ... goofin' around.

just so'z you'ze knowz, I have a fly rod ... and I fish for walleye, pike, bass as well as musky. I don't use a fly rod for musky as I prefer to land them with a minimum of stress. :) Fish on me laddies!
