Found G.Loomis dealer

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Correct me if I am wrong, but buying a rod through ebay is a challenge as you can't get it shipped once it reaches a certain length which pretty much means all one pieces.

Again, correct me if I am wrong.

Rod

Post by NavanFisher »

Hello All,

I would like thank all those who have taken the time and provided feedback with respect to my question.

I finally got my new rod (G-Loomis WBR813C ) and reel (Shimano Castaic) just in time for the Quinte opener and at a good price. Now all I have to do is figure out what line to use...lol

Next on my agenda after the May trip is a new trolling rod and reel.

Thanks
Tom

Wrong.....I've had 7'6" rods delivered to Canada. This were 1 piece....non-telescopic. You just have to be carefull who you buy from. I refuse to pay anymore than $25 for delivery.

i have a 2 piece 6'6" GL3 spinning rod.

its rated 8-15lbs test. 1/8-5/8 ounce.

there are two piece spinning loomis rods.

tougher to find casting versions of the same rods in two piece.

I know you can get the Frontier rods in 2-piece and some GL2 and GL3 models come in 2 piece also.

Loomis Rods Cheap

Post by kreighoff »

Here is how you get a collection of Loomis rods on the cheap.

You fish with my 2 buddy's they are both insane tackle junkies.

When the GL2 was a big deal they both bought a few of them for $150 each.
Then a year or two later they Loomis comes out with the IM6. My buddy's had to have a few of those (>$200 ) so I offered to buy their old used rods for 40 - 60 bucks.
A year or so later Loomis brings out the IM8 so I offer to buy their old junk rods for 60 bucks.

And so on it goes.

The only rod I have paid retail for is my St. CROIX

well for instance today.. i wiped out while going down the bank of a stream (rod in hand, roe bags everywhere covered in mud) one piece rod would surely not have been one piece after that dusey of a fall.

working in my local shop, my anglers come in specifically asking for 2 piece rods than 1 piece....

its more likely due to the proportions of 1 piece to 2 piece rods...but lots of small car owners, hikers, or other shore folk that want/need/love 2 piece rods.
