I fish Wildwood fairly regularly. Have not put the boat in yet but hopefully soon.
Shore fishing by the dam, along the park shoreline or off the causeways at the back end are the most popular.
Common catches are pike, bass, perch, carp, rockbass & bullheads.
As for pike mostly hammerhandles from the shallows at this time of year until late fall. Larger pike will be in the deeper water close to dropoffs from the shallows and will come shallower to feed at night & dusk and dawn. As boats must be off the lake by dark this makes fishing the shallows for large pike difficult. Fish deeper.
Bass opens in 3 weeks.
Fanshawe has a motor size restriction of 10 hp if I remember correctly. No boats allowed on the lake with larger motors. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
All three campgrounds have camping sites.
Best Wishes

i can confirm the 10 hp limit but i dident know you couldent be out after dark....im happy to catch smaller pike.... if its around 20 inches its still a thrill for me.....however i fish afternoon and night alot so i dont like being off at dark
.... is this true for fanshaw too? i think id end up there in fall because they dont let the lake lvl drop to keep the water lvl on the other side up..... i experienced that at conostogo last fall.... was hjardly any water... and because the water was so low the structure was unpredictable and hard to find... weeds were VERY scarse and the lake became very adgitated with the slightest disruption so it dident like the motor.... also there was a water advisory saying to stay out of the water...
... kinda sucked because it was still 93 degrees
...... oh well im going to Bon Echo this auguse then hoping to through a few day trips or 1 nighters to wildwood and fanshaw this summer and fall..... thx for the info keep it comming..... also does any1 have a lake map?
