Downrigger Board
I bought a new motor for my boat and the board i have across the back of boat needs to be raised maybe 4 inches so when i trailer motor will tilt back farther.I also have a section carved out of wood but still wont tilt back enough. Can i buy something to raise board or do i just put block of wood under ends?

Hey Mustgetalunge!
I think I understand what you're asking. Do you jack up your board at the gunnels? Right?
That seems to be the obvious answer but, you want to be sure your board is big and strong enough that it won't require centre support as well.
I use a 2X6 for my Propacs. It seems to be just fine. But I also use a strap on each side to hold it down.

I'd probably just add a couple pieces of 2x6 under each end, that'll give you 3" of height. If you need exactly 4", you could sandwich a 1x6 between the two 2x 6's at each end?mustgetalunge wrote:Walleye-I-guy,i have a 2x6 that i am using with riggers on it now but not sure what to put under ends to bring it up alittle higher.I think the middle should be strong enough for what im doing...xfingers lol
I think strapping it down is key as well. If my boat wasn't in storage for the winter, I'd take a pic to show you how I did mine..
Maybe by Spring time..
