Musky Buck Progress.
These lures are wreaking havoc on my wee fly vice. I'm stlll waiting for back ordered single hooks, silver blades and silver beads, so slowly gold lures are getting made until other parts arrive. Just staying to the same pattern but plan to have an arsenal of 25. (plus 1 for RJ) 10 will be silver, 10 gold and 6 will have the colored blades below. All are running 8.5 - 11 inches and weighing about 1.5oz to 2.50z. The first took about 4 hours to complete, but with practice I've cut the time almost in half. Man, I've sniffed "ALOT" of lacquer making these things.
When the day comes to start muskie fishing, should have a good start on the bucks anyway.

Steve, I hope still to one day get time on the Grand in the future. When in your neighbourhood I'll give ya one for that chance then.Steve G wrote:I think you owe me one for standing me up on the Grand River last summer.
Basss, yeah the black and orange one is a wee bit anorexic, I plan to beef some of them up with marabou I think in the future. Work in progress eh man. How's the arctic treating ya??? Or are you there yet?
Thanks for the pm Smitty.
None for sale. I have no muskie lures other than a few hard body baits I traded flies for this summer, and these bucks. In the future I plan to fish muskie and so I'm creating for myself until then.

Ah, ye have the black 'n orange one I was hopin' me lad. Verrry lovely!
I like the classic red and white one for big pike, too. CHOMP!
Just wondering: are you going to name your tempting creations? We could all come up with lots of suggestions, I'm sure.

Bunk, Yeah it is a work in progress. My preferance is big ol fluffy bugs!
.As for the arctic, I have been up here for 2 months now. I really miss not being able to ice fish. You think I would be able to here but I can't. I can't wait to hit the water when I get back. I see your pics and I wish I was some where like that. I'm about 400 miles from the tree line! Nuts ah! Thanks for asking and keep the pics coming!
