? WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO FISHING ETIQUETTE ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I was up at Temagami Lake for the first time at a lodge. We were there 6 or 7 days. By 4rth day I had caught an OOS bass and that's it. 6 of us were having no luck at all for ice out lakers and walleye at the opening w/e. Couldn't figure these fish out at all. Actually Laker-taker caught one laker by this point.

This one fella, going there 13 years, was coming in everyday with his limit on lakers. He was also bagging big whites too. I started to believe that he was well over his possession limit, although he had his daughter and son with him and could keep a good number. These were all great fish too, numerous 5lb and some to 10-12. Every morning he'd be the first one out, even when I started to catch on by day 3, he would get up earlier and beat me out there.

Then I spotted him finally on the water one morning. It was our second last full day to fish. I was alone and I pulled up near him. I could see he was bobber fishing. So I did the same. He only stuck around 20 minutes or so then left. I stayed there and caught nothing.

After going back to the cabin for breakfast I left late again in the morning to try this Bay for pike. I drop anchor. The winds blowing me south, then a little more south, then a little more. I look off the front of the boat and can see my anchor rope in a straight line on the bottom of the lake. F$#K HIM I immediately thought, and I used an inline spinner to jig up the rope then grab it and retie. Took awhile in the wind.

That night we're partying. The guys daughter (all catholic school girl right...? Hornier than any public school girl in other words) comes over and is friendly enough to give us the tip. "My dad uses minnow 6ft under a bobber, and that's all he does." That next day we go back and try and sure enough Laker Taker gets into a fish but, 5 others go empty handed.
The follwing morning, nothing.

Turn out the fish wanted the minnows hooked through the back. So I was mistaken going lips.

Anyways, from time to time I wonder if we were in the right to go and cram this guys honey hole on the huge lake Temagami??? Whattaya think?

I think he untied my rope. PRICK.
