Got out yesterday with topwater and fished the head pond. We managed to get quite a few smaller bass with a couple of half decent ones.. plus a few pike in the 21-27" bracket.
We started to troll again for muskie later in the day and picked up this nice 36"er... Not a monster but the fish thought it was the way it jumped.
Thanks to topwater for joining me again and making it a great day out.
Nice muski John. Great to hear you guys got a mixed bag. I wonder how long it'll be before I see Topwater holding up a muski with the same back ground!
Great photo John, I love how the sun brings out those bars on the Muskie. How is the water level on the headpond...? Its usually low this time of year.
That is a nice muskie - so that was you in the legend boat - I saw the fish-hawk hat when we trolled past you....but never stopped...sorry - we where in the princecraft - we also got a musky that day - not that big - only 32" - but it was a clean fish.....the headpond seems to be on.
Yes that was us in the Legend. We actualy got that fish on the other bank opposite to where we passed eachother. I'm sure we'll see eachother on the water again sometime
The water level didn't seem all that low although topwater may be the best person to answer that as i've only fished there a couple of times.
Fishing the pond this time of year is always good, lots of fish but dont get fooled, there is definetly some tankers in there. 55" fish are not unheard of. A friend of mine boated a 53" earlier in the year, and I caught a 50" last week. I live in the Prior and fish there as well as the Ottawa, as far as the water levels go, they are fairly consisent on the pond but the O.T. is a different story.
