Well fishhawk is in a new home....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Well fishhawk is in a new home....

Post by FLOATFISHIN »

Funny stuff I had to calm down b4 I posted this on Bacon's ukelelee strummin

K here we go,Got to FH's house bout 9 am,well wass greeted with hot coffee, and all the fixins for a good start on the day :D A neihbor shows up and then weeder comes along aswell. So we asess all the fishing tackle and monster fish replicas we have to move in a Armored truck :P And move onto the rest of the house. So we got in full riot gear and headed to work  The move went like a scum frog over weeds SMOOTH!We got all of the furniture and misc things packed up and headed to the new house,What a beautiful place. The unload was so quick we werent sure if we had worked at all  So lunch was had and a second and final trip was made to pick up loose ends.Well the house was empty with the exeption of a few things. So back over to the new Hawk nest for a refreshment, all throughout the day mind you FH and I are pokin at eachother "Can you just see a monster bass come out of the weeds on topwater 8) "So rewarded for FH,weeder,Tom,Tristan,Keegan sry if its misspelled, and the hard work of the missuses,we were rewarded a trip to the pond for a little fishy fish :D

Well we loaded up like a bunch of geese ready to fly south with nothing but thoughts of sugar plums and candy canes wait wait wait here sry  5 plus LM on topwater :D We arrived in record time but still trying not to look like kids in a candy store at the launch.Unfortunatly Weeder had prior engagements to fufill and was not able to join :(

So off to the races with myself FH,Keegan, tristan and Tom in the boat and we were off :D Well not right away because FH and I were pondering weed lines for bout 5 mins sayin"Oh ya there is hogs in there"So we found our perch and began.Well not to be out done in his craft FH lands a sweeeeet LM bout 16"didnt measure that one,and he pokes his pun at me :P " Theres mine wheres yours  "So after Tristan lands a sweet SM bout 14 to 15" what a happy boy!Tom responds with a SM in the 12" class, then while FF is beatin the weeds with a scum frog,Keegan lands a whopper Rockbass to make oll FF the only one with no fish   Ahh yes you may think I was going without, but nooooooo,A fish boils at my scum frog and I immediatly go into stealth mode! The entire crew watched as I enticed this beauty 13"LM to take a second shot at the offering and WHAMMOOOOO FISH ON :D Ha Ha no skunk for FF for all you who wanna poke fun at me    :P So a few more were boated and a few more lost.A good whack of pics were taken but FH will be down for a few days from his posting ablilities, and a few more points for team 3 were gathered :D

But let me end this by saying"A huge thx to all for today,I would not have chosin a better day if I could have, well FH is on team 3 so if he was on team 5 wellllllllllllllllll :P :P "

Thx again to all and esp Tristan, and Keegan for bein the biggest help of all with the move!Could not have done it without you guys!

Enjoy the new home guys and look forward to a margarita party soon

Thanks to Float Fishin, Weeder, Tom, Tristan and Keegan, the Fishhawk household managed to move the nest to the new digs.

Float Fishin was a little modest in the post that started this thread. In reality he showed up at 9:00 and orchestrated a wickedly fast loading of the Budget Cube which afforded us the time to sneak off for a fish.

Moving day! Who would a thunk a fish was possible?

It was a great evening with everyone catching at least one fish and lots of wooping as each one came over the gunnel.

I kicked it off with a largemouth that ran about 14 inches. Blue fleck fat butt tube pitched along the weed edge. Than Tristan flicked a purple worm into the same weed-edge and did battle with this smallmouth in the picture. This was his biggest fish ever and if he didn't have the fishing bug bad before it is now a full-blown case of fish-itis. The excitement levels really get raised when a good smallmouth jumps and makes a run or two on a beginner's fishing rod from CT.

Tristan is now one of our latest Hawk Talkers by the way. Welcome to Hawk Talk small fry. That is his Dad, Silent Tom on the left and Float Fishin on the right.

While Float Fishin was making long bombs to the back of the slop, I was focussing more of pockets closer to the edge. Dropping a texas rigged Wave Worm into such a pocket produced this largemouth.

Keegan was also in on the action with a number of rock bass. I had forgotten how tenacious the rock bass can be at Appleton - they get to be good sizes there.

Silent Tom stood quietly in the back of the boat for most of the outing and did battle with more fish that all of us combined. One of his catches was this 24 inch pike that had some shoulders...pike with shoulders are not the norm for Appleton. Tom was also into some smallmouth and rockbass too! An infrequent angler, it was a great night for him too.

But it was Tom's kids that had the best day. Here's Tristan with another pike. Happy happy happy!

Yesterday morining there was a message on our phone from Tom, Tristan and Keegan. They were thanking FF and I for showing them such a good time at Appleton the evening before. In particular Tom mentioned the patience that FF showed with the kids as they tested each item in the tackle box. Very impressive, FF. Ya helped create a couple of new fishing monsters.

FH,

Good luck & happiness in your new digs! Loved the pic's of everyone.

Yeah, that Floatfishin' is a great guy. Did you know he does dishes? Could of had him do those, too, and in record time I might add!

He is awesome with the kiddies, for sure.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
