20 fish or so with 3 of them being 3 pounders. Everything from smallmouth in 10 inches of water to largemouth on 8 foot deep weedlines.
Sunday my girlfriend and I headed out in the canoe and had one of the best days on the water that I can remember. 3-4 double headers, 40+ fish but most were under 2 lbs. Fishing the heavy slop was fun but we couldn't seem to crack the 2 pound mark but when the action is this fast it's hard to abandon it—after all it wasn't a tournament.
30 fish in I got this guy, a bit better.
My girlfriend was having a tough time getting a good hookset with the frog and was becoming quite discouraged. I handed her a rod rigged with a 5" soft jerkbait and told her to start working the edges. It wasn't long untill she hooked this BEAST!
and another shot of the beauty, she was long and spawned out. I did weigh her so feel free to guess. Pics can be deceiving, it looks so much thinner in the horizontal pic.
So she tosses the jerkbait it and next cast pulls up this pig.
