Who here is Heading for the B.O.Q opener next sat?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Opener

Post by CCLad »

My buddy and I are staying at Foster's for the first time.... Were both "victims of the economy" so to speak and are presently out of work so we will be tenting it  Been a long time...... May even have to drink the discount beer  (Not when we are this close to Costco in Gateneau!!!!) :D

Last year, Sat eve was rather rough as well, got to do what the wind/water will let you - drift sock will definitely be in order for jigging.

Good luck all...

I'll be out there trying to change my luck! I live in PEC and due to bad luck the last 2 years I only spent a couple of hours out there ..the last 2 years .. so I hope to change my luck this year!

I'll be heading down for my first time. Leaving here early Sunday morning. We will be in a red and white Allison bass boat. Not sure where exactly we are going yet, but hopefully it'll be fun none the less.!!!!

This may get laughed off the board, but is it worth driving from kanata to fish from shore? I feel the need to mention I dont exactly know what I am doing and would be using minnows or leeches with a bobber....Thanks in advance.

Might be tough...fishing from shore that is.
I would be surprised if there were not good fishing from shore in some areas.

I'm already there! :D Be careful fellas, the water levels are lower than I have ever seen them for this time of year. I've lived on the BOQ all my life and know the water very well, but I'm not going to run outside the channel markers much on Saturday.

Hey Ed, My buddy and I will be heading down from Stittsville as well. As for shore fishing, there are a few places I know of. Picton Harbor off the main dock. The Trent River, there is also West Lake at Wellington Harbor (Stay on hgy 49 through Picton, left on 33 in Bloomfield go into Wellington until you hit the liquor store) - off the main dock there (my recommendation) fish eve well into dark. These spots probably wont produce during high daylight but......I guess you never know.

Good luck.

I will also be at westlake willows... feels weird at 38yrs old, fishing my entire life, taking a class on fishing... but hey, you're all funny when I'm drunk so it's bound to be a good time... Mr. Gibsons and I are already packed.

Me and my partner did well , fishing was slow, water was low, but the big dogs were out, our smallest was 7.7 and are largest was 9.8 and we took 9th place, not sure if anybody else caught on but the big ones were still shallow, all our fish came in 10- 4 feet of water, i'll post some pics when i figure out what i did with the camera cord LOL!
