I run 2 Cannon Mini-Mags, 24" booms, side-rail mounted on swivel bases.
That allows me to spin the rigger boom forward for clipping on the weight, I can fish with them out the side or out the back. I prefer booms out the side...

I use 10lb weights - finned...

Turning is not a big concern, the cable won't touch the boat or the prop with the heavier weight.

As others have said, go with 200' cable for sure. I re-do the swivel connection to the cable at the start of every season, as I tend to bang the weights into the rocks occasionally. So I lose about 2' of cable per year re-tying the connection...
