THINKING ABOUT A SPRING GATHERING

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Actually, I'm interested to know what to get also. I have crankbaits, spinnerbaits and a few dardevle spoons and that's about it.

JasonB, PM sent to you.

I find it awesome you still have a bit of 'Hawker' in a Rob.

TroutnMuskieHunter, You will be lucky to land one over three in that lake nowadays  Did they even stock that lake 18 years ago? Wow, that's something new to me.

Look forward to meeting everyone. It's on the calender now :D  I will most likey be bringing my tinnie down..And lot's of food!

Almontefisher, I would start a new thread and have one of the mods to sticky it for ya. Start a list of who will be attending, who is on the short list and what will be needed for the weekend. It will give ya's a better idea of what everyones bringing, who's staying where and maybe even a list of the fishable lakes within a short distance. Better planning = a more organized and fun G2G!

Hey Tip-up....MNR has been stocking that lake since I've been going up there in the early 80's and even before then.....that lake was also stocked way back with Brook trout....

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what sizes come outa there and how lucky I'm gonna be  8) ......one of my buddies caught one just under 9lbs 2 yrs ago in a canoe by himself.....took him 45min to bring it in!!

Here's a pic from another buddy that was up there last year...I guess he was pretty lucky to catch that one in the middle....I believe it was a tad over 7lbs  8)

Thanks Dursky

3lb'er has been the biggest I have seen come outta the lake. Those are some fine catches TMH :D The fishing is very heavy from what I have seen. Would't expect to see them that large  Can't wait to fish the lake from a boat rather than bucket.

What were they feeding on by the way?
