EATING FISH

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

First off I don't really consume too many fish... When I do eat fish I am very.. very.. selective of where and how I eat the fish from a particular water body  For instance when I have a snack of fish I prefer it to be as fresh as possible...ie. I gut the fish right away... cut the gills out and make sure it stays nice and chilled :) I believe when commenting about the Ottawa(which has already been stated) It's all about what type of fish and size... for example... a snack of crappie or perch I would do... consuming a larger sportfish which has spent many years in river... never  Would I criticize anyone that would do it.... not a chance  Be selective of your harvest and enjoy the phenomenal fishery that is in your backyard :D

Cheers and Good Fishing!!

Some Big fish consumers here..... This topic always becomes interesting...

Always gets numerous responses.

I can say I eat 2 walleye a year... I just have no reason to eat them... I catch and release 99% id say... I just rather know theyre their to fight tomorrow when I go back... I got a freezer full of food.. Just my train of thought... Thats how Ive been since I was about 17yrs old. I like to catch and release... But theres nothing wrong with keeping some for the table...

Moosebunk, 99 fish in one season, you must fish alot man.... What bodies of water u fish most? Kessie, Erie, Ottawa, Ontario???

Lookinforlunkers, 150 Bass in one season out of the Ottawa... Why is that? Just a curious question! No eyes? crappie?

RJ, That kinda makes me wanna not eat 2 eyes a season as well! LOL

Good topic

the waters around here are alot cleaner then they were...

some people are from the old school. Nothing wrong with a fresh fish dinner even from the Ottawa. Like anywhere they are better fish to eat
