I have been planning a trip to New York for almost a month, and I was had high hopes for some brown and brook trout.
Morning:
After getting my brother a license at Kmart we were at the spot. It was pocketwater like I anticipated with pools and runs further downstream. I started with a size 12 ausable wulff and got a hit the first cast...chub

Here's the release shot...After about 30 seconds it was gone. It was tired after the battle with my 4wt

Afternoon:
Less pocketwater more pools and runs. In one section I caught a rainbow around 10 inches on an ausable wulff. Further up the river thinned out and turned into pocketwater and I changed to a size 14 royal coachman. I caught 2 brookies and had one small one flip off right before my hand

All in all I would have to say it was my best day of fishing this year by far. I am looking forward to next years adventure down there.
