ever hit a tree?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

ever hit a tree?

Post by Jebby »

funny story guys.... last week went camping and fishing on silver lake.... well we had a very bad storm that brought down a few trees..... next day on the lake there was the usual weeds pulled up and pieces of wood and what not in the water but way out in the middle of the lake i found there was more wood than normal so i slow up and carefully manover through them only to thump onto the freckin trunk of a tree connecting all the pieces together........ about 2 feet down there is leaves followed by trunk... all thes timber is a very large oak tree..... the entire stinkin tree is floatin out in the lake with just a few lil tips poaking up.... thank god im careful and slowed to a near stop... did no damage.... if i had been a maniac powerboater i would have totaled my prop and damaged my hull motor.... if i was a water skiier id have a 40 foot splinter to pull outa me back side..... any1 have a good story of there own?

Oak? Oak doesn't float! Unless the leaves were keeping it up.

That's freaky, jebby -- the whole tree! Could have been a nasty accident.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

floatin stuff

Post by Jigs »

When we had our trailer up on Centennial Lake, we'd head out in the morning across the lake to find a huge mess of debris floating in the middle of the lake; being pushed by the breeze? If the wind changed, coming back, same stuff.

Never had to look too far for firewood
