Congrats on coming up with the idea of using sausage for bait when nothing else was working. Some very nice fish indeed. Along the same line....a few years ago I was reading an article about jigging for lakers and the preferred bait was fresh uncooked chicken breast. Unfortunately I can't recall the reference but it is worth a try when nothing else is working.
