Hey guys and gals,
I was wondering if anyone has information of the Ottawa river around Driftwood provincial park. I'm heading up there this coming weekend and I was hoping to shorten my hours of scouting and get on the fish a little faster. I have heard rumors that the Quebec side offers better fishing but have not been able to confirm this. Hope you can help, Thanks.

Quebec side offers great fishing.
There is a river called dumoines that is incredible, but be aware of Quebec fishing regulations.
My parents own property in Mackey, so I tend to stay in that tributary most of the time. I have had success out in the main channel but it has not been in several years.
I usually fish up some of the tributaries in the area (Mackey) and have had successful pike, walleye and bass fishing.
Good luck.

Hey C C thanks for the reply,
As far as the regs go I thought as long as you launch from the Ontario side you can fish the Ottawa River, Is there a limit about how far up the tribs you can go on the Quebec side?

Brian, I spoke to CO's here in the PQ side last week, and you may fish from shore on the PQ side with a "Sport" tag not a conservation, they do not recognize the Conservation tag for they dont offer one in PQ licensing. Also to my knowlecge you cannot fish and "Tributarie" off the Ottawa into PQ without a Quebec tag.

When fishing the Dumoine River there are 2 signs posted on either side that clearly show where the limit is before you need a Quebec License. Don't risk going up there if you don't have one, the C.O's are very sneeky up there. As far as the fishing goes I have had some success at the mouth of the Dumoine jigging for walleye but it is slow right now. If you go just down the river from there on the Ontario side there is a channel marker marking the edge of a shoal. If you troll back and forth thru there with deep cranks or bottom bouncers and worm harness you should pick a few up. If you want some good bass fishing head up towards Bissett Creek and on the Ontario side there is a big sand bank, work that whole shoreline into the bay in 4-14 fow with tube jigs and you should pick up some nice size smallies. There are lots of other spots up there they are just to hard to describe(and I can't give away all my secrets)
Good luck

Thanks to my great supporters Deep River Outfitters, Shimano Canada and Hunters Bay Marine.
