It sounds like you're looking for a straightforward, portable fish finder to use with your newly acquired boat. Here's a rundown of some popular, basic fish finders that are well-regarded for their ease of use and portability, along with some pros and cons based on user experiences:

Portability: Compact and easy to carry around.
GPS: Built-in GPS helps in marking spots, creating routes, and checking speed.
Display: Clear and easy-to-read display.
Ease of Use: User-friendly interface.

For a small fishfinder/gps combo check out the Garmin Striker 4.

Yeah, I would also recommend the Striker 4. It's been great for me, as well as Garmin's castable version of the striker unit.

I only replaced my x67 this year. it's still working and is a great unit only i wanted something with GPS.

if you want simple, just stay with the x67. it's awesome :)
