1975 Johnson control cable question

Hello forum,

Had a quick question if someone could help me out. I have my forward control cable on with the “spring clip”
Is there a screw I need to fasten it completely or is it fine with a zip tie for extra securement or am I missing a piece? Thank you.

Installation on my 1983 Johnson is the same. Spring clip only. Have never had a problem with it coming loose/popping off...
