prop suggestions for a princecraft and optimax

Post by nuker669 »

i have an '04 princecraft super pro 186 platinum with an optimax 150. i'm looking to swap out the stock aluminum prop with something to improve the overall performance.

just wondering if anyone here with a similar setup or experience (um... boat sponsor!) might have some suggestions.

currenly i'm topping out at just over 45 mph with 2 people. i think alone i can hit 47. pretty sure i hit 49 mph before i added the 2 batteries and trolling motor.

boat review at boattest.com indicates a top speed of 50 mph at 5150 rpm with a laser 2 21 pitch ss prop.

i believe i should be in the realm of 5500 rpm with the optimax at full throttle.

Pretty sure max RPM is 5800...so you could run the same model prop in a 17 pitch.

Poirier et Fils, an authorised Princecraft & Merc dealer in Buckingham, have a range of SS props that they can lend you to test before you buy. You have to pay the full price up front, they will provide you with the test prop of your choice, when you decide on the one you want, they give you the brand new one, in the box. If you chose to not buy one, you get you money back! Check it out!

They are hard to find but add a 21p Vengence to Norms suggestions they more cup for a better bow lift on a multi-rig. Either the Tempest and Trophy will be a HUGE advantage over the alum wheel you are running now.
