Boat Seats (Butt/Casting)

Post by ady »

Okay Guys I need Help.

I managed to pick up some long poles so that I could install casting/butt/bicycle seats (or whatever you guys call them) Thing is, on calling my boat dealer, he is asking $150+ each for the seat and mount. This sounds a lot to me.

Any of you guys know better????

I just hope that I dont conflict with sponsors here if so I appologize.

Go to CT they have seasense poles

Poles: 20$
Deck Mounting: 25$
Seat mount : 16$

For the butt seat I got mine at a discount (20$) :D but they should be at around 50$.

Hope that helps

Not sure that CT seats will fit. I have 2 3/8 swivelease posts so I need special stuff. Maybe I'm stuck with a big price tag - have 2 months to find something though!!!!!

call Laurentian Marine. 526 5622. If you have the seat post then all you need is a seat and mouting plate. The swivelease concern is only for placing the seatpole into the boat . The deck mounting plate needs to fit the seat post.

Pro Pole

Post by Seaweed »

That is not an outragous cost.

I got quoated the the same for a Nitro pro pole

You gotta pay for quality and confority to your boat.

I looked hard to find components to make a pro pole for my boat... couldn't find them anywhere.

I am buying a used one for 150 from a guy who sold his boat and has some seats left over. This price also includes shipping from south-western Ontario.

Having a pro pole will let you fish the whole day without nagging back problems or sore knees like I get with my full sit down seat that is too low to run the electric motor pedal.

In my opinion getting a pro pole for that cost isn't out of this world expensive.

Butt Seat

Post by Seaweed »

Yep

I have been discussing buying the pro pole from this guy.

Problem is that I think the bottom of it isn't the same as mine.

He will be sending a picture of it soon

Thanks for the heads up on this item though... appreciate it. 8)

hey Seaweed,

you were right about the cost, surf'd everywhere and I saw similar prices. Went to Laurentian and picked up up a pair of seats and mounts. Good store, my first trip there, helpfull and they had stock - gotta love it when they actually have stock of what you are looking for.

Set to go for 06 now.
