Any recommendations in the Beckwith, Lanark,Perth area for an outboard Mechanic?
Need a little 2hp Honda kicker tuned up. Hasn't been used much in the past two summers and last fall when I had it out there was a hiccup/misfire.
Cheers,

You could try a can of Seafoam first.

I have heard that Rideau Ferry Marine is pretty good. A friend has been taking his outboard there for awhile and likes the service.

I would run a can of seafoam through the gas tank first.

Will give the seafood a shot, I've used it in the past. Would still like a good mechanic to give it a once over.
Re: Outboard Mechanic
Get a can of the spray Seafoam (CTC carries it) so that you can spray it directly into the carb while it is running. What I do is spray it just to the point where it's about to stall a few times and then stall it out with a good heavy dose. Let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes then start it up again and let it smoke away. Do this a few times as well then run good premium fuel with a heavy mixture of Seafoam added. That, along with a new plug may be all that's needed and you'll save a pile of coin.Troutskiii wrote:Will give the seafood a shot, I've used it in the past. Try Dave Glover at Sand Lake Marine.
Excellent mechanic. Busy as all get out tho. You may need to wait a week or two, maybe even longer. This time of year is very hectic.
