Best way to clean Grunk/Crap off Aluminum Hull

I just pulled my boat out of the Ottawa today, and of course, it is really covered with grunk and crap from sitting in the water. Even my pressure washer couldn't make a dent, so it looks like good ol' fashioned elbow grease with some serious scrubbing!

I heard that acid washes aren't the best for aluminum hulls. So I am seeking your collective knowledge/ideas on the best solution to clean my boat and motor.

I have heard old fashioned vinegar and water, lemon juice, baking soda, and of course store bought cleansers. I like to try and be eco-friendly, however at the same time, I am looking for something tried and true to assist me with my scrubfest.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Try Gunk Off from any hardware store or a reputable Marine Cleaner for boats and engines.

Thanks to everyone and their ideas.

I went to Canadian Tire and bought 3M Boat Hull Cleaner and I also had a bottle of CLR Kitchen and Bath Cleaner (10 bucks cheaper than the 3M stuff)

The CLR Kitchen and Bath, with a scrubby sponge won HANDS DOWN!!! It worked alot better than the 3M Boat Hull Cleaner.

Just thought I would share. And along with my pressure washer, the boat, she's almost better than new again.

My boat sits in the Ottawa all season and has awful looking river ring on it when I pull it out in the fall. I use one of those plastic brillo pads for scrubbing pots. Works great and with surprising little effort.

I once had some old tire cleaner stuff, and it worked very well on the hull, although I am a fan of CLR, will try that later in the year.
