Trailer Tires

Post by Eagle »

Need to replace our trailer tires and would like your input. Will be traveling about 700 miles per day.

What do you think of car tires on a boat trailer for long distances on the highway?

If we go with the trailer tire, radial or bias ply?

Best brand of tire and brands to stay away from would also be appreciated.

As always, thanks for your reply.

I have heard of some guys doing that but I would go with real trailer tires. If you read the spec's you will quicly see that trailer tires have re-inforced sides and will be able to handle a heavier loads properly with peace of mind.

If you buy car tires they will have a tendency to pull and sway just like all car tires they will want to have traction and you will feel a left to right feel when trailering at a higher rate of speed. It's not worth the money saved go safe and by the real deal.
