i fished with a 2wt this past weekend for a bit. it was really fun catching 6" fish. they felt like monster pike. would be awesome for panfishing.

I've got two 2 wts. One I made myself (rainshadow Rx6) and an Orvis superfine.
I even caught an 18inch laker accidentaly on the superfine

Both are short 6'6'' and I mostly use them fishing small trout streams.

I picked up an 8'9" 3wt last summer and I love it for dry flies. Big bluegills and slab crappies feel like whales when they hook up. I got a a couple of 28" pike to the tube last season on the 3 wt. For some reason they liked size 10 olive BHWBs
I find the 3wt to be not so good for throwing anything with more weight than a very small beadhead and is useless if anything more than a breeze picks up. Of course that could be my lack of casting ability......
