What rod to use?

What rod should I be looking for to use for bass,pike,muskie fishing. I have been making LARGE flies over the winter and would like to try them. :lol: :lol:

you're looking for an 8wt or better. The answer would depend on the amount of time you planning on fishing for the bigger fish. If that's your primary target you might consider a 9 or 10 wt. If bass is you primary target an 8wt would be a good choice.

For Musky, generally a larger rod is preferred. We have a couple of customers using 9 and 10wt with pike/musky floating lines. With your large flies, you should consider a pike/musky line to help turn over the flies.

Definitely test cast the rods before you buy. Getting a rod to fit your casting style will make all the difference.

How "large" are they? What are they made of? (i.e. polar fiber, magnum bunny strips, deer hair, etc)

8 wt.

If none of your big flies are weighted, I would recommend an intermediate sink line on a spare spool for those bright sunny days where you might need to get a little bit deeper.
