Unless there is an additional stocking that I wasn't aware of the Browns are being stocked in the Ottawa River by the Champlain Run Trout Club, whereas the bows are specifically for the Peche en Fete.

With respect to the browns, to my knowledge the desire is to eventually have a sustainable population of browns in the Ottawa, as such catch and keep is discouraged.

Hey Todd B.,

I might be wrong here... But I think that in fact the browns and the bows tha are numbered by Joco are all for the ruisseau :( :( I don't really know if this is worth the investement cuzz theres no way that a population is gonna grow there. They empty the creek in the winter for ice skating. So all the trout propably die off, unless they can go back to the river (wich I dout) or the go down the stream wich I dout to cuzz I think they block the so they dont get out. For the trout in the ottawa river, I'm pretty sure its a seperate thing even though its the same day that they'll stock...

Really I'm not sure about any of this info, I'm just trying to pick up the things i read in english, wich isn't my forte...

Maybe Joco can help us??

P-O,

I really don't know what the situation is for the Peche en Fete, though I do know that the Champlain Run Trout Club is holding their brown trout release (into the Ottawa) on the 9th (Friday) as well.

hi todd b

these 2 stocking are complytely deferent...........

in the creek we put the trout there, for the kids,,,,,,,,,,,,we put them in the creek to get caught.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats why we put them in for............

we dont stock them to have more in the river...........its just for people in the city to be catch,,,,,,,,,,and by the way some trout will be going into the river,,,,,,,,,,,,but hardly,,,,,,,,there 2 little dam at both end off the ruisseau,,,,,,,,its a bit hard for them to get out they do.......but not anaught go out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a lot off them die in winter, because they empty the creek like 80%,,,,,,,, :( ............so they dont have mutch place to go.........

so to practice,,,,,,,,and bring the kids to catch trout for super, thats the place............... :o  .

hope to see you there,,,,,,,,,,,,, :P

i will catch my chare off tout there,i will be eathing trout for the next monthor so.........till i am tired off eathing them.............and by the way they are betwen ,8inch to 14 inch...........rainbow and brown......

great place to be this weekend.........but if people dont like crowd place.mabe its not last year we had like 8000 people that went to catch trout......... ..and they say aprox,,,,,,,2000 to 4000 trout have been catch on those 2 days.so there still like 6000 trout that was there all summer long,,,,,,,, ..........

I've been counting down the days for a couple of weeks now :D .

Just out of intrest when do they stock it on Friday?? We have a shortened at at school, and I was wondering when It would be a good time to go.

Also, what is the possession limit for brown and rainbows?? I know it's 5 rainbows, but is it also 5 browns?? I released all my fish last year, but Ive really developed an enjoyment for fish to eat, so I mite bring home a few to try. Theres no point in releasing them if they all die

3 more days :P

Joco,

I was just reading the Quebec regs and only Quebec residents can fish without permits.
