Shiner open

Post by bobfly »

Brought my canoe to Shiner on Friday afternoon. At first I didn't think I would be able to launch with ice all around the south side but it turned out to be a floating ice mush. No takers but spotted several pike on the north side close to shore, doing their spawning thing. Cast some bass flies onto their nose...not interested. As Fishboy has reported, no-one on shore seemed to be catching anything. Saw a few BWO and caddis and a few rises in the middle of the lake which indicates there were some bows around. I suppose they are all at the bottom. May have to wait for the water turnover, perhaps in the next week or so. Lovely day to be out there. Next venture will be Limestone or Twin Lakes.
